Watermaid - Salt Water Chlorinator, Model: WM10LED

The Watermaid Ezyclean Cell is the only cell that is installed via a Venturi System. By mounting the cell vertically, the Watermaid system has a functional gas trap without additional water diversion and plumbing. A gas trap prevents the products produced by electrolysis from traveling down the plumbing and getting trapped under solar covers. A gas trap is mandatory on chlorinators in Australia. In North America this is not a requirement but Watermaid insists on maintaining this safety system. If water flow stopped, a gas sensing tang in the top of the cell would shut down the system. Unlike other systems, this is NOT a spring loaded switch. It has no moving parts which could calcify and prevent the switch from moving and shutting down the system. If however, our sensor ever did fail, the bubble of gases produced by electrolysis would force the water down in the cell until the active plates were no longer covered by water. At that point the reaction would stop and the gases would be “trapped” in the cell housing.
